Most founders stay stuck because of one belief they’re convinced is true. It’s faster/easier for me to do it myself.
Don’t believe it. Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.
I remember doing the billing In my first business. Even after $1M/year revenue, I still did it. Because I could. Because I didn’t trust anyone. Because I didn’t want to fix mistakes.
This was a very bad idea. Not just because I despised it. Because it kept me from doing what I loved.
Which was something only I could do like creating the vision, seeing new possibilities, and inspiring the team and the clients.
Once I found someone else who loved doing billing, I was able to focus my mind on productizing our services so that we no longer did billing at all because clients paid in advance. That was a 10X idea.
The truth is, if someone else can do it, they should. Even if they’re not as good at it as you are. Because then you can stay in your zone of genius.
You have unique abilities and natural gifts. Things you love doing that put you in flow state. Where you’re effortlessly engaged and focused. It doesn’t feel like work. You want to be in that state as much as possible because it’s a 10 to 1 ratio. 10 hours of “work” equals 1 hour in the zone of genius. Which sounds better to you?
The first step is to delegate. Things won’t be done the way you would do them. They might not even be done as well. Be willing to accept that price.
Your reward is a life you love and the time and space to create 10x results.
