There’s a reason you sometimes feel stuck.

It’s not because of what you’re doing or not doing.

The real reason will surprise you.

It’s about who you think you are.
Your identity.

Why New Actions Often Don’t Stick

When you want to change:

• Your business
• Your health
• Your relationships

The first instinct is take action:

• Look for a therapist

It rarely works.

Because your new actions feel out of alignment with your existing self-concept.

So you rely on willpower.
Which gets depleted fast.
The change doesn’t stick.

Start From the Inside Out

Before you change what you do, transform who you are.

Start from the inside out.

Then what you do will be aligned with who you are.

Reinvent your Self.
Your identity.

Your Identity Can Be Rewritten

Your identity is made up of beliefs about yourself that you accept as true.

This means you can change it.

When I wanted to exit my first business and start another one, I had to change my self-concept.

To see myself as an investor.
The owner of a valuable asset.
Not someone just running a business.

I looked at everything that frustrated me about my business and uncovered the hidden risks.

Then I eliminated those risks.
My actions felt natural and aligned.

Because they were congruent with my identity as an investor:

• No billing by the hour.
• No more one-time projects.
• Services became products.
• Generate recurring revenue.
• Set up the business to run without me.

The Shift That Made It Possible

I started with my identity.
Believing I could do it.
Visualizing success.

It works.

I did exit and start another business. You can too.

But if I had taken those actions without first changing my identity, I wouldn’t have been able to make some of the harder strategic moves.
