Perfection is an Illusion

Animals understand authenticity. They don’t really know any other way to be. My puppy shows utter joy each time he sees me, without wondering how he looks or whether he’s over-wagging his tail.

It doesn’t occur to him to try to be like the dog next door.

There are 8 billion people on the planet and each of us is unique. The most profound action we can take is to express this distinctiveness by living authentically.

Your talents, creativity, experiences, and desires combine to create a consciousness uniquely your own.

You’re an important piece of the puzzle that makes up the whole of humanity. If you try to imitate someone else’s shape, you leave an empty place where your piece belongs.

The human species evolves with each individual authentic expression.

And when we’re connected together we represent the full expression of human potential.

Quantum physics tells us about the importance of connectivity. The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded for quantum entanglement, which shows that particles can instantly influence each other across any distance when they’re connected.

This insight highlights a universal principle: at the quantum level, everything is interconnected.

If we’re all connected, then imitating someone else represents a lost opportunity for humanity to expand and evolve.

We learn as children to avoid being different or we’ll be outsiders. Parents and teachers give us rules designed for us to fit in and be like other “successful” people. These well-meaning guidelines stifle our individuality and creativity.

It takes courage to break free of the mindset of conformity – especially conformity disguised as “achievement.” But it’s worth it.

There’s one prerequisite to living an authentic life. It’s the unshakeable belief that you’re intrinsically worthy, not because of your achievements, but simply because you exist.

Recognize that your fundamental nature is good. That perfection is an illusion and you are a work in progress. This foundational belief leads to unconditional love for yourself and others.

It also makes it possible for you to express yourself without concern about how you appear to other people.

Ultimately, the fear of rejection and the perception of separation are illusions. We are all connected and expressions of consciousness.

What if your real purpose in life is to seek to ever more deeply know and express yourself, and to encourage others to do the same?

When you’re authentic, you know who you are. You’re real. You accept yourself.

When you accept yourself, you’re able to fully express the very essence of your being into the world.

Authenticity is the ultimate freedom.

Start with these questions:

1. What are your unique abilities?
2. Have you discovered your zone of genius?
3. How much time each day are you doing what you love?
