“Tell me about your business.” How do you answer?
Do you look to the past, and talk about your annual revenue and how many years you’ve been in business?
Do you look to the present, and discuss your market reach and number of employees?
Or do you look to the future, and describe what you’re committed to creating?
Where you look determines your results.
If you want your business to be a slightly better version of what it is now, then looking to the past or present is one way to do it.
You can find evidence to support your goals and create linear growth.
But if you want to create something new in your business, like a new solution, productized service, recurring revenue model or pricing structure, there won’t be evidence for it.
That’s because it’s new for you.
So if you look to the past or the present you’ll be discouraged or anxious.
Instead of looking for evidence, CREATE it.
Choose your future and declare your commitment to it. Let that guide the way you show up in the present.
Infuse your thoughts and feelings with energy about what’s possible because you SAY it is possible.
Demonstrate your belief by being willing to take the required actions. You know what they are.
Be the person now that your business needs to create that future.
Do it with the way you think, the way you feel, the decisions you make, the actions you take.
That’s how you’ll experience exponential growth.
Create the future in your mind first.
You think the way your business IS, is what creates your thoughts about it, but it’s the other way around.
The way you think about your business is what creates it.
